For a control system to access lighting or blinds, time-consuming
cabling to electrical and control circuits used to be
necessary.
HomeMatic is a simple and reliable alternative which
uses RF for communication, not cables, and is fully compatible with
the AVIT control system.

| Overview |
|
|
|
The product portfolio The HomeMatic portfolio offers
a number of different actuators and sensors. All functions are available which
are needed in a home automation system. HomeMatic makes communication with
actuators and sensors possible via a secure and encrypted RF protocol. The RF
protocoll( BidCoS ) of the HomeMatic RF-Smokedetector is even VdS (Association
of German property insurers) certified.
A big number of actuators
and sensors cover all functions, that are required in a building automation
system. In the next few months COMM-TEC will launch the wide product
portfolio, starting with 230 Volt actuators for in-wall
mounting.
The actuators can be installed easily later on in an
existing electrical installation. Parallel to a touch panel you can still use
your ordinary switches. You simply put a radio interface in your
in-wall mount box and the on/off-commands will be immediately transmitted
via radio to the actuator.
 Because
of the bi-directional communication, there is no problem to use a switch
parallel with a AVIT control system. There are also the light switches, that are
powered by a battery, that can be used directly together with a actuator. You
can place it basically everywhere without any problems and any
cables.
In addition, HomeMatic also offers a remote control. So the
customer is able to control his light, electric screen, blinds and others
centralized from his control system, with a simple light switch in the room and
wireless with the remote.

| How does HomeMatic work with AVIT? |
|
|
AVIT / Stardraw Control communicates through
the network (TCP/IP) using the LAN-Gateway, which acts as interface
between Ethernet and the HomeMatic radio frequencies.
The paired
RF-components give feedback automatically in case their state is changing,
so that means you do not need to poll them.

|
| How secure is HomeMatic? |
|
|
The data between the radio components is
transmitted scrambled (AES - Advanced Encryption Standard - Key). A
monitoring of the communication through third parties is not
possible.
So you do not have be afraid of that your neighbour
might switches on and off your lights using his remote control. This is
not so unusual when using other radio systems with the same devices.

| Advantages of HomeMatic |
|
|
HomeMatic offers many advantages compared to
other systems:
- Simple installation or extension of existing systems
- Range extension due to the use of multiple LAN Gateways,
also in
different or tight and angled buildings
- The used frequency is the secure 868 MHz wave band
- Higher range compared to similar systems
- Lights, blinds and electric screens could be
easily integrated
- Easy retrofitting, without dirt or dust
- Bi-directional radio-communication
- RF-protocoll of the smoke-detector is VdS-certified
- Already existing light swichtes can still be used
- Very attractive solution in price
